Wakey Wakey....What's new in Kusadasi!

A spell of good weather has hit the town, which seems to have made everyone come out of hibernation.....owners are refitting and re stocking their shops with this seasons delights. The cruise ships will start docking at the port from early March.....so what has happened during the Winter.

Well actually.....there has been a lot of work done in and around the town.

Gone are most of the dreaded marble pavements which turn into lethal slippery surfaces at the first sign of rain.

The pot holes and uneven surface on the road from the cemetery to the Tuesday Market area has been replaced by a smooth even surface. Similarly, the cobble stone road out of the dolmus station for dolmus's heading to Duvutlar, Sogucak and Guzelcamli and the old Friday market road have been replaced by smooth tarmac.

Currently, new and well needed drainage is being put in place in areas known for prolific flooding.

Down on the front we have a new Çay Garden courtesy of the Belediye, where you can relax and watch the world go by.

New advertising screens have also been erected on the front.

The Uydukent complex, ie the blocks of flats near Kipa are being finished off although the completion will take some time. To date three blocks are finished with a fourth currently having it's exterior painted.

Three new pedestrian bridges have been erected over the main Kusadasi – Selcuk road, which will make crossing this piece of busy dual carriageway so much safer especially with children and pushchairs.

For those flying into Bodrum airport the transfer journey time should be reduced in future as major road improvements are on going to widen the road from Milas to the Soke straight. When finished this piece of road will be a dual carriageway.
The on going improvements will be of benefit to Kusadasi and it's surrounding area.

Come and see for yourself...........
