Where The Real Heart of Kusadasi Is...

It’s not often in life that I am pleasantly surprised, so today was definitely one to be marked on the calendar. Both myself and my business partner Linda had the distinct privilege of meeting the Mayors acquaintance at the same time as being privy to one of his beautiful renovation projects. Naively I thought that I knew most of Kusadasi by now but I was to be proved entirely wrong. It so happens that at the very top of Kusadasi there is a whole new part of town waiting to be discovered and it’s steeped in rich history. Behind the scenes and away from the hustle and bustle of normal Kusadasian life there are many authentic houses and old streets that are being prepared for a proper facelift under the supervision of our own Baskan, Esat Altungun. The NEW visa ruling ( Effective from July 2010)

A visitor's visa valid for 90 days is issued to British Citizens at the port of entry on payment of £10 (English notes only) . British diplomatic/official passport holders must apply for a visa before travelling to Turkey. Read more here

SUNDAY was a day that put KUSADASI on the map for class and elegance. ‘ORHAN ACADEMIA’ organised an opening that had others a gasp in town. The build up, leading towards the unveiling of their new building has left business professionals in town very curious. This weekend bought many ‘high fluting’ Kusadasians out to their, opening cocktail to see what they had been working so tirelessly on. World Dance Day Festival
13:05:10 FRIDAY night was an evening that was enjoyed by many as the Kusadasi Dance and Sports Club showed that they had much more than just dancing talent. From start to finish the entire show was a display of bursting energy and expression of dance from cultures around the world. From heart moving hip hop, to slow, ‘mind capturing’ freestyle, to authentic belly dance, folk dance and hip shaking salsa, the event did indeed travel through a well choreographed world of cultural dancing.
